Armaments is something in between armor and weapons, but it's still a separate subsection of artifacts: which will be useful for those heroes whose main strength lies in damage.
Despite it all the items from Dota 2 have the common advantage that can make from an ordinary character invincible warrior - they add to the initial characteristics a certain amount of points of strength, dexterity and intelligence, which determine the further course of the game.
To help you decide what's worth spending your gold on, and what's not, we've created a short description of some of the art you may want to keep an eye on when playing Dota 2.
So, let's see what's interesting among the armaments.
Blades of attack
The artifact is popular with woodland characters and carriages. The bonus this item gives is +9 points to damage. It has no recipe, so the only resource you need to get the claws is 450 gold.
-
For the Lifestealer character this item should be one of the first to buy, as it gives faster health regeneration and powerful attacks when dealing with mobs.
Broadsword
Although the item adds +18 points to damage, it costs 1200 gold, so spending that much just for damage would be impractical, which is why it's rarely bought as a final weapon, but it's needed when you plan to build a stronger art.
Broadsword is used to build:
-
Battle Fury
- Blade Mail
-
Crystalys, which can be upgraded to Daedalus (considered one of the strongest items in Dota 2)
-
But don't drop everything to get this amazing sword. A character like Anti-Mage will need to improve his armor before he can worry about the damage he deals.
Chainmail
One of those items you don't need to buy at the beginning of the game. It costs 550 gold and only adds +5 to your armor, but it comes in handy if you want to collect it:
-
Blade Mail
-
Buckler
-
Assault Cuirass
-
Medallion of Courage
Platemail
A type of armor popular with heroes with good damage and intoners. Its main value lies in its further transformation into a platemail.
-
Assault Cuirass
-
Shiva's Guard
Claymore
Costs 1400 gold, adds +21 to damage, and is an essential ingredient to collect:
-
Battle Fury
-
Shadow Blade
With this precious sword, you can effortlessly kill creeps, so it's important enough for heroes who need to farm.
Helm of Iron Will
Needed for the creation of:
-
Helm of the Dominator
- Satanic
-
Veil of Discord
Helm of Iron Will adds 3 Life Regeneration points and 5 points to armor. You can buy it in the shop on the side of the map for 950 gold. But the main value of the item is the creation of stronger artifacts, which are important for Slardar, Tusk, Dragon Knight, Sven, Alchemist, Huskar, Lifestealer, Night Stalker, Chaos Knight, Wraith King, Luna and Troll Warlord.
Javelin
The one item you shouldn't spend 1,500 coins on just for the characteristics it adds. We're talking about +21 to damage and a possible 40 after the first hit. The real value of the art lies in the further creation, with it, of the Skull Basher or Monkey King Bar.
Mithril
One of the most popular items in Dota 2. But again, its strength lies not only in the fact that it adds +24 to the attack, but in the artifacts that can be created with Mithril.
-
Desolator
- Maelstrom
-
Black King Bar
Quartestaff
Adds +10 to damage and attack speed, may be needed to make Butterfly, Orchid Malevolence, Force Staff.
But there are also two ways to improve this art:
-
First: go to the leit - your hero becomes unreachable for 30% of attacks and gets a bonus to damage
-
Second: Decrease the enemy's defensive ability.
Quelling
An important farming item that adds 40% extra damage to creeps and is also needed to assemble Battle Fury.
Stout Shield
If Stout Shield blocks 16 melee damage, it'll deal 8 damage to creeps in close combat and 8 damage to creeps in 50+% of all attacks. It costs 200 gold, but is quite important because it helps to avoid wasting health and to farm creeps.
It can be used to make a Vanguard or Poor Man's Shield.
