In the previous issue, we mentioned Buff and talked a little bit about it. As you remember, Buff and Orb effects improve a character by providing special skills or bonuses.
But it's worth noting that they don't work at the same time. Yes, you might think, "If my character has both, he becomes invincible." Unfortunately, the opposite happens - Buff and Orb effects are often incompatible. Therefore, while you will be striking your opponent - he will not have his health taken away, while on the screen - your movements will be displayed.
If you had a similar situation and didn't know what was wrong, maybe it was because of the unfortunate interaction between Buff and Aubre.
Let's break down what are the Orb effects of items in Dota:
Health Theft
These effects restore your health after every hit on an enemy hero.
Mask of Death - 15% vampirism (Orb)
Helm of the Dominator - 15% vampirism and armor enhancement (Orb)
Mask of Madness - 20% vampirism, plus increase movement and attack speed when activated (Orb)
Satanic - 25% vampirism, and as much as 175% after activation (Orb)
Armor Reduction
Each strike on an enemy unit will lower the opponent's armor.
Stygian Desolator - takes 7% off armor (Orb, Buff)
Mana Reduction
This strike decreases the opponent's mana.
Diffusual Blade - Burns 20% mana, improved versions burn 36%. (Buff)
Deceleration
Slows an opponent's movement speed.
Eye of Skadi - Slows enemy movement and attack speed, but only works during fast action. (Buff)
-
If you play as a melee character then you can collect Skadi in combination with other items, but if you play as a melee character then the Orb effect will kick in.
Chain Lightning
Fires a chain lightning bolt at the enemy.
Maelstorm - 25% of chance to fire lightning (Orb, Buff)
Mjolnir - 25% of chance to release lightning, basically the same as Maelstorm but slightly improved (Orb, Buff)
Some tips not to forget during the game:
-
Orb and Buff do not work at the same time.
-
During each attack - only 1 Buff is available
-
The Eye of Skadi artifact can only affect all items if you are a Long-Range Combat Hero.
-
If you bought Orb effects, the last one used will override the other.
-
The item slots have a sort of priority. In other words - if you bought two Orb effects, the one with the higher priority will work.
Health Steal items will work regardless of their priority.
